  2. Salamaleikom can you explain what islam Say About 6000 years creationism because i have found some hadith which im not sure if are authentic which speak about weekly day creation like Adam created in Friday ecc and the second i read about your post on yajuj majuj but Is there any way that from the text we can prove that yajuj Wa majuj live with us maybe you wrote but i didnt see It barakAllahfik

  3. Salam aleykoum brother Abu Rahma , I wanted to ask you if Sunan Abu Dawood 4361 where a Blind man kills his concubine is authentic ?

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, the Hadith is authentic and I will write on it soon iA. You will see a new article on it instead of a comment here. I cannot promise when but it is on my next to-do list.

  4. So I know that islam allows slavery, but I had a question about it. I heard from people who speak against islam that islam allows men to rape their female slaves or concubines. Could you please educate me on the matter?

  5. Salam aleykoum brother, I’m confused regarding this Hadith:

    Sunan Abi Dawud 2050
    Narrated Ma’qil ibn Yasar:

A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: I have found a woman of rank and beauty, but she does not give birth to children. Should I marry her? He said: No. He came again to him, but he prohibited him. He came to him third time, and he (the Prophet) said: Marry women who are loving and very prolific, for I shall outnumber the peoples by you.

I’ve seen people saying that marrying Barren Women is makhroo based on this Hadith . But doesn’t it contradict the Sunnah where the Prophet ﷺ didn’t have any Children from his wives except Khadidja and he advised to marry the religious women ?
So I just wanted to ask you if it is true that marrying barren Women is makhroo .
    May Allah bless you .

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, makrooh is something that is not liked or is not the ideal thing and hence, if a man marries a woman knowing that she cannot conceive, he will develop ill feelings later on when he desires children and so to avoid problems later on, it is best not to delve into it. Something that is not ideal is *not necessarily a sin*.

  6. as-salāmu ’alaikum wa rahmat Allāhi wa barakātuhu

I have many article-suggestions for you:) and they will also make fun cause these are things which do not exist in english language i.e. there is no refutation on these topics:

    – did the Qur’an plagiarize from the gospel of thomas? This claim originated from W. Atallah

    See footnotes 16-17 https://www.academia.edu/8998104/The_Quranic_Image_of_The_Table_descended_from_Heaven

    – meaning of „MARROW OF THE LEG-BONES CAN BE SEEN“ from hur al-any? Many islamophobes cite this hadīth and make fun of it… they say “how can this be attractive for a man?”

    – claim that Abu Hurayrah was a hypocrite because he only followed the prophet for food.

“I used to accompany Allah’s Apostle to fill my stomach”

    – did Holy Prophet Muhammad (š-Allāh-’aws) plagiarize from gospel of Bartholomew?

Then follows a series of hymns sung in heaven, eight in all, which accompany the reception of Adam and the other holy souls into glory. Adam was eighty cubits high and Eve fifty. They were brought to the Father by Michael. Bartholomew had never seen anything to compare with the beauty and Glory of Adam, save that of Jesus. Adam was forgiven, and all the angels and saints rejoiced and saluted him, and departed each to their place.

    – the reason why the prophet did this (this is also a hadīth which they cite for laughing):

    https://sunnah.com/bukhari:77

Just choose the topics u want or none of them:) thank you for your excellent work, I really appreciate it 😊

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wa rahmat Allāhi wa barakātuhu,

Sorry for such a late response. I did not forget this comment. I will get some time soon in April or May iA and will write on these iA.

  7. Salam aleykoum brother Abu Rahma , I wanted to ask you if it’s true that Imam Malik called Ibn Ishaq a liar in “Uyun al-athar, I, 16-7” ?

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, Ibn Sayyid al-Nas discusses criticism on Ibn Ishaq in the beginning of his book and defends him. Criticism he responds to includes Imam Malik’s harsh comment on those lines.

  8. Hey brother, I have a personal question I hope you don’t mind me asking you. Which madhab do you adhere to?

    • I don’t mind at all. Theologically I am Athari and in my writings I use all the schools to develop articles to clarify matters. Hanafis and Malikis are the most lenient in matters pertaining to non-Muslims so they save the day mostly lol. In my personal life, I follow the prevalent one of the land but don’t call myself as anything. I reside in UAE and they are officially Maliki 🙂 In my daily life I don’t come across areas of differences and I hope I don’t come across differences in other matters too iA. In simpler terms, I ask a trustworthy scholar with easiest access to me and follow the opinion and don’t delve into complex issues too deep and prefer focusing on making my ibadaat as good as I can.

  9. Salamaleikom First of all i want to thank you for the time you take the answer and May God bless you the new question i have Is about the hadith when were they available for people i mean the First Time because for example i couldnt find a sahih bukhari manuscript dating in the time of bukhari himself except a couple After him by century more or less so when were hadith canonized Sorry for the mistakes and the second Is about yajuj and majuj i read in your article that the Wall crumble might be Just happening at the same Moment of the yajuj and majuj invasion but if so whats point of mentioning the Wall fall if It has nothing ti do with the yajuj majuj Attack

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, thank you for the kind words. May Allah bless you.

      1) For the Sahih Bukhari question, I suggest this article: https://icraa.org/sahih-bukharis-original-copy/ Hadiths were recorded even during the life of the Prophet (s) and many Sahaba had written words from him. Later on, and way well before Imam Bukhari, there were many books of Hadith but these were like private collections. What the Hadith scholars like Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim and others did was to compile them together instead of being scattered around as private collections.

      2) I believe that the wall has crumbled. Their initial attack was in the form of Mongol invasions and after Eisa (a.s.) comes, other groups of Yajuj and Majuj (Chinese) will attack. This is my view and I am open to being corrected and Allah knows best.

  10. Salam aleykoum brother , I wanted to ask you what are your thoughts of this Thread in Twitter by this Quranist ?

    • W/Salaam, sorry I missed this comment. Which Hadith do you mean? Can you please share? I know about pricking but kicking one I’m not sure. The pricking one is there on this site.

  11. Assalam U Alykum Brother. I hope all is well with you and you family during these times first and foremost. I was recently talking to a Christian on a YouTube comments section and he brought up the Hadith about the Prophet cursing the Jews and Christians for taking their Prophet’s grave as a place of worship. He raised two points. The first was when historically did the Christians and Jews take their Prophet’s grave as a place of worship. The other point was that he claimed that we as Muslims are cursed because well we have a masjid near the Prophet’s grave. I was just wondering if you could address these two points. Assalam U Alykum.

    • Wa’alayumusSalaam wr wb,

The first question is very easy. Look at the Churches and tombs made on the burying places: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_burial_places_of_Abrahamic_figures

The Prophet (s) was buried in his home and the Masjid was separate from it. Eventually the community expanded so much that the Masjid expanded as well to incorporate them and hence, the grave came inside the limits of the Masjid. The intention was/is not to take his burial place as a place of worship. Making a tomb on someone’s grave and then making it a place of worship is a separate matter and worthy of condemnation.

      • Salam brother, can you make a post on the attributes of Allah explaining it? Many Christians have used it to allege anthropomorphism and it’s given me some doubts.

      • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, which ones in particular? There are several books on this subject and they are very complex to understand. If you can clarify what exactly is causing you doubts, I will address that iA.

  12. Salam aleykoum ahki, I heard that in the 4 Madhabs , it is said that we don’t kill a master for killing a slave as a Hudud . Is it true ? May Allah bless you .

  13. Assalamu Alaykum,

What do you think about Rum being turkey because Rum at the time of the sahabas was the byzantine empire.

Mehmed AL Fateh conquered Constantinople and declared himself the Caesar of rum.

All ottamun sultanates had the title of Caesar of rum.

The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople considered him the successor of rum.
And the successor of the ottamans is Turkey.

During the great War when the Muslims fight rum, they will conquer Constantinople.

    https://archive.org/stream/whoisrum/Rum_djvu.txt

Please read this, it is a study on who is Rum.

      • Ibn Kathīr states in his tafsīr speaking about the Romans: “With regard to the Romans (Rūm), they are the descendants of Esau the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham (Al-ʿĪṣ bin Iṣḥāq bin Ibrāhīm)”

At first this statement may seem odd to those familiar with the history of the Roman Empire, as it is well known that neither the Romans from the Western Roman Empire, nor those of the Byzantine Roman Empire were descended from the Biblical figure Esau who was a Semite from the Middle East. The origins of both the Western Romans and the Byzantines undoubtedly do not go back to Esau nor to any Semitic group, rather the origins of the earliest Romans go back to the tribe of the Latins (Latini) who spoke an Indo-European language (Latin) and had no links whatsoever to the Semites. The Latins had founded a number of states in the central Italian peninsula which fought one another in the Latin wars, until the strongest of the states defeated the rest and established itself as the state of all the Latins, that city-state as we know is none other than Rome. It is therefore established in history that Rome was originally founded by the Latins. So why then did Ibn Kathīr state that the Romans were descended from Esau the Semite from the Middle East? The origin of this statement is found in narrations of the Rabbis and scholars of the Jews, who associated the Romans with the Edomites. In fact, the Roman Empire and even Rome itself was commonly referred to by the Jews as Edom (meaning ‘red’ in Hebrew), a practice which continues up until today. Who then were the Edomites? They were in fact the direct descendants of Esau, who was commonly known by his nickname ‘Edom

The reason why the Jews associated the Edomites with the Romans was because the Edomites who were located in what is today south-west Jordan as well as parts of the south-east of Palestine had allied themselves with the Romans, and it was from the Edomites that one of the ruling families of Palestine emerged. The ruler from this family that is most well-known from history is Herod the Great, allegedly the ruler of Palestine at the time of the Prophet Jesus. Herod was ethnically an Edomite and ruled on behalf of the Roman Empire which at the time was still based in Rome. The Jews therefore associated the Roman Empire with the Edomites, as the Romans that they. dealt with and knew of were in fact ethnic Edomites who ruled over the Palestinian areas of the Roman Empire. The fact that the Jews viewed the Edomites as Romans further shows that even to the Jews the definition of Rūm was a political one and not an ethnic one. The Jews called the Edomites as Romans because the Edomites had joined the Roman Empire and became governors of the Roman provinces in Palestine. Yet another understanding that can be gained from this is that the Jews viewed the Edomites as Romans even though the Edomites followed the Jewish religion, proving that even though the Edomites did not share the pagan religion of those in Rome, that they were still part of Rūm.

Again, it should be kept in mind that these claims regarding the Edomites are not from the Qur’an or the Sunnah but rather are narrations from the Jews and therefore do not constitute proofs for us, even though they are mentioned by Ibn Kathīr. However the premise that Rūm could be associated with an ethnic group other than the actual Romans from the Italian peninsula is something seen to have been universally accepted and this definition was used by Muslims, Jews and even the Romans themselves.

This association mentioned by Ibn Kathīr of Rūm with the Edomites therefore does have a historical basis to it, as the Romans absorbed the Edomite lands and caused the demonym ‘Edomite’ to effectively disappear, as they had come to be known as Romans and they became governors of the Roman provinces in the Middle East. The Edomites became Romans and lost their identity of Edomites over time until they were no longer recognised as being Edomites but were fully integrated Romans. This is why eventually the name ‘Edomites’ was dropped and was replaced with ‘Romans’, much like the descendants of the Aztecs today no longer call themselves Aztecs, but instead call themselves Mexicans, having adopted the name given to the land by the Spanish conquistadores. This is how the people that were formerly known as Edomites became known as the Romans of Palestine. Ibn Kathīr continues, “They are the cousins of the Children of Isrā’īl, and are also known as Banī Al-Aṣfar”

The Edomites were closely related to the Jews (Banī Isrā’īl) as they were both descended from the Prophet Iṣḥāq which is why Ibn Kathīr referred to them as being cousins. It is said by the Jews however, that the Edomites turned away from the religion of Iṣḥāq and began to worship the Roman idols alongside Allah, and therefore they were considered to be apostates by the Jewish tribes who shunned the worship of idols. The name ‘Edom’ itself means ‘red’ in the Hebrew language and is known to be another name of Esau, as it was said that when he was born that he was reddish in complexion. Therefore, the name ‘Edomites’ literally means ‘the sons of the reddish one’. What is very interesting is that the term used by the Arabs to commonly refer to the Romans was ‘the sons of the yellow one’ (ie. Banī Al-Aṣfar). At first it may seem that the 2 colours red and yellow are entirely different and could not in fact be referring to the same individual or people, however a deeper knowledge of Ancient Hebrew will quickly show that they are most likely in fact referring to the same colour. In the Ancient Hebrew language there was no clear way to say ‘yellow’ as no word for the colour yellow existed in their language at the time. One of the closest words used to describe the color yellow in the Ancient Hebrew language was yarūq which actually meant ‘green’, however at times it was also used to refer to the colour of gold, which we associate with the colour yellow. The fact that yellow as a colour did not exist in the Hebrew language means that there was no way to express that something was yellow, rather a Hebrew speaker would compare the shade of yellow that he saw to the nearest colour available, and in the case of a greenish-yellow he would call it green, and if it were a reddish-yellow he would call it red. This means that the usage of the term Edom to describe a ‘reddish’ newborn may have actually been referring to a colour that we in the English language would more likely associate with the colour yellow, something that is very common in newborns who are jaundiced, especially as a jaundiced baby does often appear to be reddish (the word jaundice itself comes from the French word jaune meaning yellow). This is why it is very likely that when the Jews called Esau ‘reddish’ that they were likely referring to a yellowish shade rather than a deep red.

  14. Salam aleykoum brother Abu Rahma ,I’m really co fused regarding the Hadith of Adam AS being 60 cubits. The Critics of Islam says that it’s totally unscientific and that we don’t have fossils of Giants . I heard Muslims saying that his height of 60 cubits was on Paradise and others said that he was 60 cubits on Earth .Which opinion is correct and how should we respond to those allegations ? May Allah bless you .

  15. Salam aleykoum ahki , Some critics of Islam find it difficult to imagine that the Qu’ran is perfect because they argue that we must look on the Tafseer and the Ahadith to check the “context ” of every verse . And for them , it’s a proof that the Qu’ran is incomplete and imperfect. And they say that we can ,for example , read the French constitution without looking at other texts to check the context .How should we respond to this allegation ? May Allah bless you .

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, why does France have lawyers and complicated legal books explaining the law in detail? They also need explanation. Moreover, the Qur’an’s message is easy to grasp and understand but the more detailed you want to go, the more assistance you would need.

  16. Jazak’Allah khair for your efforts akhi, I seriously and genuinely appreciate it. People like you mean the world and are a great khair to this Ummah. Keep up the good work my brother,

Sincerely your brother in Islam -Nas

  17. Assalamu alaykum, i have a question regarding the deities worshipped by the people of noah

Sahih International: And said, ‘Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa’ or Yaghuth and Ya’uq and Nasr.

    Verse (71:23)

The question is I have read these false deities were also worshipped in arabia too.

bu-al-Mundbir related that [his father] al-Kalbi once said: I was told by Malik ibn-Harithah al-Ajdari that he himself had seen Wadd, and that his father was wont to send him to it with some milk saying, “Offer it unto thy god to drink.” Malik added, “I used to drink the milk myself.’ He also said, “I also saw it after Khalid ibn-al-Walid had destroyed it and smashed it into pieces.” For the Apostle of God had, after the battle of Tabuk, sent Khalid ibn-al-Walid to destroy it. But the banu-‘Abd-Wadd and the banu-‘Amir al-Ajdar resisted Khalid and attempted to defend the idol. Khalid, therefore, fought and defeated them, and then destroyed [the shrine] and demolished the idol. Among those killed in battle on that day was a man of the banu-‘Abd-Wadd whose name was Qatan ibn-Shurayb. His mother happened upon him dead and thereupon cried out saying:

“Verily friendiship doth never last, Nor do the blissful times ‘er endure; A mother’s love doth not save a son From misfortune, nor his life insure.” She then said:

“O thou the centre of my love, The source of all my joy and mirth! Would that thy mother were never born, Nor e’er to thee hath given birth.” After which she fell over his body sobbing and died. Hassan ibn-Masad, the cousin of al-Ukaydir the ruler of Dumat al-Jandal, was also killed. [In short] it was Khalid who destroyed [Wadd].

[The Book of Idols, By Hisham Ibn-Al-Kalbi, Pg 48-49]

Ḥanan b. Ḥisda says that Abba b. Aybo says, and some say it was Ḥanan b. Rava who said that Abba b. Aybo says, “There are five permanent idolatrous temples: the temple of Bel in Babylon, the temple of Nebo in Borsippa[b], the temple of Atargatis in Manbij, the temple of Serapis[c] in Ashkelon, and the temple of Nishra[d] in Arabia”.[18]

if all humans descended from nabi nuh, does this mean these deities were continuously worshipped from the time of nabi Nuh?

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, many of the deities of idol worshippers are Jinns/shayateen and they live long. What was worshipped by the people around Nuh (a.s.) continued to be worshipped by idolaters later on as well. It doesn’t mean that they were continuously worshipped non-stop throughout history (but it may be though). If idol worship stops for five thousand years and then someone reaches out to Iblis to worship him, Iblis may send forth one of his teammates and that may be the same one worshipped five thousand years ago. We don’t know if there was a gap in the worship of Wadd, Suwa’, Yaghuth, Ya’uq, and Nasr or whether they were worshipped continuously throughout till Islam came; the source of them is the same i.e., Iblees. Btw, humanity is descended not just from Nuh (a.s.) but also from the people with him on the Ark.

  18. Salamaleikom i find this quote on the internet Is supposedly a tafsir from imam al qurtubi on the hadith of the prophecy of the beduins Building High buildings i Will Copy paste the quote Al-Qurtubi said:”What is meant here is the prediction of a reversal in society whereby the people of the desert country will take over the conduct of affairs and rule every region by force. They will become extremely rich and their primary concern will be to erect tall buildingand take pride in them. We have witnessed this in our time as well as the import of the hadith: “The hour will not rise until the happiest man will be the depraved son of a depraved father (lukka` ibn lukka`),” and also “if the leadership is entrusted to those unfit for it, then expect the hour,” both found in the authentic collections. The problem Is that he wrote “we have witnessed this in our time the problem Is how Is this possibile and Is the quote reliable jazakAllahkhairan

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb, there are many signs which even our grandparents’ generation (and even before) thought were completed. For example, people in 1400s or 1600s or 1800s would also agree that killings have increased, crimes are rampant, other sins have increased. Remember the saying of the Prophet (ﷺ) that his generation is the best one followed by the next one and then the next. Things have gone from good to bad and worst from generation to generation. Many of the signs have been occurring since centuries, even as far as 800+ years ago, and these are the general ones; specific ones have also occurred and many are yet to come. During the time of the Prophet (ﷺ) and even before, two story houses used to exist and later, taller constructions became more common. In our times, we see this sign to be the most prevalent and common.

      • jazakAllahkhairan for the answer but the One about Killing Is of course a lot more vague and more ways of interpretation but this seems a lot more detailed arabs beduins tall buildings Rich its strange that al qurtubi said It happened in his time ah by the way im not sure if the quote Is authentic or its wordings are right

      • So this Hadith mentions construction of tall buildings and “When a slave gives birth to her master”. This refers to surrogate mothers where the sperm and the egg of a couple are placed in the womb of another woman (on rent). The one renting her womb is the mother in this case: {Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them}. [Q.58:2]

        Below are some key points:

        1. Employment is a more humane form of modern slavery
        2. The one who bears the child on rent is kind of like a slave
        3. In many cases she is more than an implied slave and a more direct one such as rich ones appointing a maid (a practical slave with higher rights sometimes)
        4. Having children with slaves wasn’t uncommon during and before the Prophet (ﷺ)’s time and hence, there has to be more than just a slave having a child from her master
        5. This Hadith is a spectacular one in the sense that it explains Iman and Ihsan and summarizes Islam so beautifully and concisely and for the end times signs, two signs are mentioned together – competing in construction and slave giving birth to her master. Both are most relevant to our times and surrogacy is a modern phenomenon.

It is fine if Al-Qurtubi felt that the sign took place in his time. That is a perspective from that time period and justified in having it; now we have more evidences and observations; time has shown that his view was also correct and is more correct in our times.

  19. Salam aleykoum ahki , I’m confused regarding this Hadith:

    https://sunnah.com/ibnmajah:2660

Also , in his Tafsir of Surah 5 verse 45 , I’ve read that Ibn Kathir mentioned that the vast majority of scholars held the belief that a Muslim should not be killed if he kills a kaffir .
Doesn’t it contradict the Qu’ran where it mentions that we must practice justice and equity ?
I don’t get Why is a Muslim killed for his murder of another muslim but not for a kaffir ?
    May Allah bless you .

  20. As Salam u alaykum, there is this page called “religious research institute” and they have a few videos too, called Quran and history on subjects such as Midianities, Antioch, thamud. You should look into them and write responses to their works. Jazak’Allah khair

    • the website is religion research institute* by “Dr” Rafat Amari*. They put out specious arguments and he even has two books, one you can find pdf which I hope you can debunk in sha Allah. Let me know please I yearn/beg. Jazak’Allah khair.

    • Wa’alayumusSalaam wr wb, I had a brief look at the website and the topics seem to be covered. You can search on this blog for relevant topics. If there is something in particular you would like addressed, please let me know and I’d be glad to help iA.

  21. Assalamu Alaykum,

Do you know the classifications of these narrations. I found in kitaab al fitan by nuaym ibn hammad.

944.Ibn al-Musayyib: There will be a tribulation in Syria, of which the first will be child’s play, then nothing will be right for people, and there will be no community until a herald calls out from the heavens: “Go to so-and-so,” and a hand will be apparent, pointing. Ibn al-Musayyib: same other than he said: A herald will call out from the heavens: “Your commander is so-and-so!” (1)

    940. Sa’id b. al-Musayyib: There will be tribulation, the first part of which is child’s play, every time it is quiet from one side, then it flares up on the other, but it will not end until a herald from the heavens will call out: “Is not the commander so-and-so!” Ibn al-Musayyib intertwined his hands until they were shaking, then said: “This commander is true!” three times.

    626. Sa’id b. al-Musayyib: There will be a tribulation in Syria -every time it dies down on one side it flares up on the other, and will not cease until a herald calls out from the heavens: “Your Commander [of the Believers) is so-and- so.”

    629. Abū Hurayra: The fourth tribulation is the blind one, dark-night, tossing like the sea, no Arab or non-Arab house will remain without being filled with humiliation and fear. It will cross Syria, strike Iraq, surround al- Jazīra with its hands and feet, flattening the community like leather. The trial will be intense during it until the good will be rejected while the evil will be known (affirmed), and no one will able to say: Hold on! Every time you patch it from one side it rips apart from the other. A man will wake up a believer, but go to bed an unbeliever=none will be saved other than one who prays the prayer of one drowning in the sea, it will last twelve years, revealing when it reveals, when the Euphrates will have uncovered a mountain of gold, they will fight over it until out of every nine, seven will be killed.

    939. Abū Hurayra: The Messenger of God said: The fourth tribulation is eighteen years, then it will disclose what it discloses, when the Euphrates reveals a mountain of gold, the community will turn upside down over it, and then seven out of every nine will be killed for it. [208]

Interestingly, the syrian civil war was started by a group of boys who graffited anti Assad slogans.

  22. Assam U Alykum brother I have 2 things that I would like for you to address In Sha Allah. The first one is about the Hadith in Saheeh Bukhari Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 256. I was just wondering if you could go more in depth in the situation and explain it because it’s a bit confusing for me and has brought on some doubts. I would also like to ask you if you could address something someone brought up to me. They claimed that Allah was a pagan God because the Prophet’s father’s name was Abdullah which means slave of Allah and this apparently shows that the pagans worshipped Allah. I was wondering if there was any truth to this claim and if you could refute that notion.

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb,

If a Hindus who worship idols says ‘O God help’ does this mean that a Christian who calls out to God worships the same idol?
Christians worship what they consider ‘the son of God’ and Japanese considered their emperor the son of God; does this mean that Japanese worshipped Jesus?

Allah is the One True God who was worshipped by Ibrahim (a.s) and his descendants. Even the Jews and Christians in Arabia called God as Allah and the same was true for idol worshippers. They called God as Allah as well. Ibrahim (a.s) was not an idol worshipper and he was a true believer. Later on his descendants deviated from the correct path and introduced idol worshipped and mixed the true faith and falsehood. They carried some of the truth such as the Kaabah, the Hajj and so on but polluted it with false rituals, idol worship, and many self-made concepts among others. They retained bits of truth while rejecting others. They believed in Allah but not in the correct way; they attributed daughters to Him and had a belief of Him that is not suitable to His Greatness and Majesty.

  23. Salam aleykoum , I have a question regarding this Hadith :

    Abu At-Tufayl narrated:
“When the Messenger of Allah had conquered Makkah, he sent Khalid bin Al-Waleed out to An-Nakhla, where Al-Uzza was. It consisted of a shrine positioned above three acacia trees. He cut down the trees and destroyed the shrine and returned and reported to the Messenger of Allah, but he told him, “Go back; you have done nothing.” Khalid did so and when the temple guardians saw him they hurried off up into the mountain, saying, “O Uzza, cut him down! O Uzza, disgrace him! If you don’t, you’ll have to die!” When Khalid reached there he found a naked female with dishevelled hair piling dirt over her head and face. He put her to the sword and killed her, then returned and reported to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم ,who commented, “Yes, that was Al-Uzza .

(Sunan Al-Kubra An-Nasai 6/474, Al-Bayhaqi. Imam Muqbil bin Hadi’ee Al-Wadi’ee said that this narration is Hasan in As-Sahih Al-Musnad 533. Imam Al-Hakim said that this narration is Sahih in Al-Mustadrak ‘Ala As-Sahihain 4/784.)

Why did the Prophet ﷺ ordered to kill this Woman? May Allah bless you.

  24. As Salam aleykoum brother Abu Rahma , I have a question regarding the Hadith where the Prophet prohibits himself from being intimate with his concubine wife to please his other wives. In particular, it is alleged that Hafsa became upset when the Prophet was intimate with Maria the Copt in her house and on her bed, saying:

    أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي وَعَلَى فِرَاشِي

O Messenger of Allah, in my house and on my bed?

    Source: Tafsīr al-Ṭabarī 66:1

Do you know if this Hadith is authentic ?

    May Allah bless you

  25. Assalamu Alaykum, what fitan is Umar R.A referring to in this hadith.

The one that moves like waves.

I heard Hudhaifa saying, “While we were sitting with `Umar, he said, ‘Who among you remembers the statement of the Prophet (ﷺ) about the afflictions?’ Hudhaifa said, “The affliction of a man in his family, his property, his children and his neighbors are expiated by his prayers, Zakat (and alms) and enjoining good and forbidding evil.” `Umar said, “I do not ask you about these afflictions, but about those afflictions which will move like the waves of the sea.” Hudhaifa said, “Don’t worry about it, O chief of the believers, for there is a closed door between you and them.”

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb,

Here he was referring to the big signs which do not affect people on their own but collectively as a group and these include many such as wars and destruction, Euphrates gold, Dajjal and so on.

      • JazakhAllah khayr,is there any hadith that mention the fitan that moves like the waves
        .
The only I found is this one.

It’s classified as weak as you mentioned to me before.

      • I believe it’s not any one in particular but all Hadiths about major trials. Moving like waves is a figure of speech to indicate the intensity.

    • W/Salaam wr wb,

      1) When the Prophet (s) sent Ali (r), he didn’t send based on rumors and so those words were testimonies
      2) When Ali (r) saw the situation, those testimonies proved to be not entirely accurate
      3) Sending Ali (r) itself was not to kill but to investigate and then take action
      4) So the punishment would have been tazeer and not Hadd
      5) Prophets are greater people and immoral and indecent behaviour around their honour deserves bigger punishment than otherwise

  26. Salam, I was wondering about the use of weaponry in the end times. Multiple Ahadith state swords and spears in the common sense to the people of that time I presume since there is also a hadith about how one of the battles with the Romans will not even leave a bird flying over the air. It is common sense I presume then that guns and nuclear weapons will be used since swords and spears and the like cant affect what’s above but are ground weapons. Is this correct? There are also Ahadith on how speaking to the sahaba in the means they understand is necessary. And to add to all this all end times hadith are not metaphorical and contain hidden meaning as they are about people, place etc. (Yasir Qadhi).

    • W/Salaam, I too believe that advanced weaponry would remain. Yajuj and Majuj would also use heavy weapons. However, would it remain after Yajuj and Majuj is something I’m not sure about.

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb,

The narration being authentic doesn’t mean that the statement is true. Ibn Abbas (r) was a great Sahabi and he was known to narrate from Israeliaat and this is one of them. After the spread of Islam, Jewish Rabbis and former Rabbis came in contact with the Sahaba and Tabi’een and they narrated quite a bit from them. So this isn’t an issue if he took something from them and respectfully erred.

  27. Hi there Is a person that i know Who asked me if there are prophecies in islam that are completly inexplainable except by the Supernatural im aware of many prophecies in the hadith however he can claim that those hadith were made After the compilation like the Persia conquest or count 6 Signs ecc ecc i mean modern day prophecies and the 2 question i have Is about hadith that speaks about end of time war using phrases like horses arrows swords and this guy said thats the proof that the people Who made the hadith didnt have a clue about the future world And the 3 One im curios about people saying that there are hadith that speaks in precise detail about events like the syrian civil war like a hadith that Says It Will start like child play Is this true ? Thank you very Much for your time God bless

    • Have you seen the video by Hamza Yusuf explaining the technological prophecies? Those are a good list. Other than that, these come to mind right away:
      – The Turkic people attacking the Muslims and this was the Mongol invasions
      – Caliphate turning into kingship followed by dictatorship, followed by a new system (the modern nation states), followed by the Caliphate again (which is yet to happen)
      – Romans and Persians oppressing the Muslims in Iraq and Syria
      – Competition in construction
      – The Syrian civil war as you mentioned
      – Dajjal being one-eyed is unique and we can see the one eye symbol around us way too much
      – I believe even Corona is mentioned:

After me will be trials one of which will be that of Ahlas which is that of war and running (Arab spring/revolutions); then a bigger fitna will occur (wars) followed by a bigger fitna which would appear (Corona) to end but would ignite again and expand so much so that not a single household will remain except that it will enter it and will trouble every Muslim until a man from my family will emerge.

Fitna of Ahlas is that of Arab spring/revolutions, the bigger fitna to follow that is that of wars, then the fitna that would appear and seem to go away but ignite again is that of Corona because each and every single person on earth has been affected by lockdown, masks, rules, economy suffering, vaccines etc.

There are plenty more to occur and time will prove them right.

  28. Salam aleykoum ahki, I found this Hadith:

    The Prophet said:

“The Dajjāl uses a special kind of donkey possessing two enormous ears, each of which is at least 30 arms-lengths, moving in the skies, with the clouds so near he can reach them with his hand and it travels faster than the sun going to its sunset.” (Mentioned in Kanz ul-`Ummal and `Uqd ad-Durrar, Imam al-Maqdisi.)

Do you believe it’s a prophecy about planes ?

    • W/Salam wr wb, yes this refers to airplane. If you collect all the Ahadith on Dajjal’s white donkey, it’ll be clearer that it refers to a white airplane.

      • Just a last thing Arent some of the hadith mentioned weak like the One about syrian fitnah starting as child play or others thank you

  29. Salam aleykoum ahki , in Qu’ran 5:47 Allah told the followers of the Gospel to judge according to what God has sent down in it. However , we don’t believe in the divine origin of the Gospels .So how should we understand this verse ?

    • Wa’alaykumus Salaam wr wb,

“Let the people of Injeel judge by what Allah has revealed in it”. The Gospel has now turned into a manmade book but it still has portions of truth. If they follow it properly, they would need to follow the part where they are instructed to accept the last Messenger and eventually become Muslims.

Bible scholars have done a reasonably good job in distinguishing later insertions/interpolations, actual words of Eisa (a.s.) and more. If the Christians actually hold onto the gospels with their hearts and minds, they would eventually become Muslims by the guidance of Allah.

  30. Assalam U Alykum,

I had a question regarding this Hadith about the Prophet speaking about water that is valid for Wudu. I was wondering if you could explain this more in depth. The Hadith is Sunan an Nasai 326.

  31. Salam aleykoum brother Abu Rahma , do you know the authenticity of this Hadith ?

Umar bin Al Khattab رضي الله عنه said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say `No father is to be killed in retaliatory punishment for killing his son`
    Musnad Ahmed 148

    • Wa’alaykumus Salaam wr wb,

This is written by Bassam Zawadi:

This hadith needs to be read in light of another hadith which states…

Abi Tufayl Amer al-Kinani said: The Messenger of Allah (s) laughed and then said: Are you going to ask me about what I was laughing about? We said: Oh Messenger of Allah, what were you laughing about? He said: I saw people from my Ummah being herded into paradise in chains! We said: Who are they? He said: A group of non-Arabs taken prisoner by the Muhajirun and eventually enter paradise. [Collected by al-Haythami and authenticated by al-Albani]

Ibnul Jawzi said that this hadith is referring to people who were taken prisoner and then when they came to know about Islam and its beauty, they embraced it. They weren’t coerced into accepting Islam, but what led to their accepting Islam was ironically their initial capture and imprisonment.

So the Prophet (s) is expressing his delight in the fact that the Muslim’s character and morals are so great, that even their prisoners of wars are getting impressed and adopting Islam eventually. It does not mean that they are being forced to accept Islam, nor does it mean that they are being imprisoned till they do or that they were imprisoned for that very purpose. The rules of war in Islam are known and need to be borne in mind.

Badrul Deen al-‘Aini in his commentary on Saheeh al-Bukhari said that the scholars differed whether this hadeeth only applied to the Sahabah (which may be the case, since the Prophet (s) said “muhajirun” in that narration), but regardless, that’s not really the point.

      • Hatta (حتى) does not necessarily only mean until and can also mean ‘so much so that’. If you use this translation, then the issue is deescalated: {حَتَّى يَدْخُلُوا فِي الإِسْلاَمِ‏} – {…so much so that they enter into Islam}.

  32. As salaam alaykum. I need an explanation on the Hadith of Bukhari 4728 which says that the Christians doesn’t believe in paradise, they say food and drinks are not there.

How can we solve this problem because the bible says Jesus will drink with his people and the Christians believe there are food and drinks ?

  33. As salaam alaykum Abu Rahmah. Can you explain the Hadith that says that David was given the QURAN ( Bukhari 3235) ? I tried to explain it to my Christian friend that it is psalm but was referred to Qur’an linguistically but he said the psalm was not read but sang like a song so Qur’an can’t fit the context linguistically for David

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb. Qur’an means recitation and it is also ‘recited’ in melody; it is not ‘read’ as a constitution book. Da’ood (a.s) was given the recitation and he also recited it melodiously.

  34. Salam aleykoum ahki , some Islamophobes claim that Islam allows slave women with their naked breasts in the streets because the verse for Hijab only applies to free believing women and they claim that Scholars held this view .This argument has caused me some doubts .Do you know if that’s true ?
    May Allah bless you .

  35. As salaam alaykum.
There was a post in Let me turn the table site that refute the Hadith that the prophet said the sun sets in a moody place. The post concluded that the Hadith is not reliable but Sheikh Al baani considered it as authentic.
How can this happen ? Can we still find error in what the scholars graded ?

Secondly, Most christians uses some absurd stories in Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Saad, Al waqidi, and Tabari to stain the behavior of the prophet, Some scholars didn’t agree with most of their works but they still use them as reference when quoting the biography of the prophet.
How can we know what’s right or wrong in their works ?

    Jazakumullahu khairan

    • Akhi a hadith that is sahih in chain does not necessarily follow an authentic hadith. Albani authenticated the chain not the hadith hence why he said, صحيح الإسناد. That hadith in sunan Abi Dawood came through 5 different paths all that do not contain the words “ it sets in a spring of warm/murky water”, thus making this narration Shadh (odd).

Secondly Al-Waqidi is rejected and letmeturnthetables also has a beneficial article on this. Works like Ibn Ishaq, Tabari etc, essentially every book besides the two Sahihs are to be scrutinized on an individual basis, isnad to isnad.

  36. So I have two questions Sheikh.
    (1) What do you make of the coccyx not decaying Hadith?
    (2) What is the resting place that the sun is running to that is mentioned in the Quran.

    • 1) “The “earth would consume” every part of the son of Adam (after his death) except for one bone; the coccyx…”

The Hadith does not say that it cannot be broken into ashes but that the earth does not consume this bone and this is true; this particular bone is very strong and does not decay under “normal circumstances”.

As for those who are cremated, Allah will raise them as He wills; He may remake them from the coccyx bone or otherwise, that would not be a problem, scripturally, for us.

An important side note: Based on my understanding and experience, the words of the Prophet (s) cannot be scrutinized as strictly as the Qur’an as Qur’an is the word of Allah and Allah does not say things casually the way we normally do (e.g. sunrise, sunset etc. – you will find wajada to go with it); however, the Prophet (s) spoke in his style and if he says ‘every’ for a certain thing, it may not be ‘every’ thing but spoken of in general terms. However, if Allah says ‘every’, then that is really ‘every’. Certain things may appear to be general in the Qur’an and sometimes we dismiss them as generalization but I have learned that they are not so and careful reading reveals that if a certain ‘every’ in the Qur’an is not meant to be all encompassing, there is textual proof for it in the Qur’an itself. Allahu A’alam.

      2) https://youtu.be/N4y1WDl-WP8 – planets rotate on their own axis while they revolve around the sun. Now the sun rotates on its own axis as well (takes 24-25 days) and the entire solar system moves forward as well. I not too sure where it moves forward to; perhaps it revolves around the galaxy: https://youtu.be/Q1GFP__38gI – from this video, it appears that the sun may have a resting place; the entire revolution isn’t in a straight line and is bouncy in some areas and dips in others. There may be a bigger dip at one point which may be the ‘resting place’ mentioned in Hadiths.

  37. As salaam alaykum.
I heard of an historical miracle in the Quran about Abraham and his people worshipping celestial bodies which is never mentioned in the Bible. How can I get the Archeological evidence so as to present it to my friend ?

    Salaam.

  38. As Salama aleykoum , I heard a contention against the Prophecy about the bedouins competing in High buildings .Some non-Muslims object that the Hadith talks about naked and poor Arab bedouins and those Arabs who are competing in High buildings today are Those Arabs are amongst the richest and most well dressed people in the world .So they claim that it is the descendants of naked and barefoot bedouin Arabs who are now competing in Tall buildings .What do you think about this argument ahki ?

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb,

The Hadith speaks in future tenses. The Angel asked about the signs of the end of the world and the Prophet (s) described them so naturally it won’t be those bedouins of that time but their descendants.

      • Jazakallah Khairan ahki !But their contention was not that it concerned the Bedouins of that time .They say that the Arabs who compete in Tall Buildings like Burj Khalifa or Makkah Royal Clock Tower are not bedouins but are descendants of the Bedouins who found oil in the 20th century and became the richest in the world .Is this statement accurate ahki ?

      • Yes this is what I mean. It is about the future and did not concern the Bedouins of that time but of the future i.e. their descendants. The Hadith itself is clear that it would not be those Bedouins because the Hadith speaks about the future and so it is understood that it would be their descendants.

  39. Salam aleykoum brother Abu Rahma , do you know if the Arabic names of the Biblical Prophets like Dawud , Isa , Nuh etc were first introduced in the Qu’ran or were the people of the book like the Jews in Medina called those Prophets that way in Arabic before Islam ?Jazakallah Khairan .

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam wr wb. Medinan Jews called them by these names (Da’ood, Isa, Nuh) and if you listen to the names of the Prophets in Hebrew and Aramaic, they are very close to the Arabic ones.

  40. Salam brother,
I have a question on a hadith you quoted in your book the mahdi.
“Then the people will unite under a man who will be like a hip-bone on a rib”
I have seen this hadith quite a few times but never really understood what it means.
Who is the person the hadith is referring to?
Can you please explain? Where can I find more details?
    Thanks

    • Wa’alaykumusSalaam, it looks to be King Abdul Aziz and Allah knows best.

Hip bone on a rib refers to an unusual setup. Basically this was a new setup and before that the Muslims used to have Umayyads, Abbasis, Ottomans and the order that came after the Ottomans is totally new.

  41. Salam. I’m sorry to bother you but I gave a question that is really bothering me. In this hadith, the prophet says that the tailbone doesn’t decay. All that I learned was that all bones eventually decay. How do we understand this hadith based on this?
    The hadith is https://sunnah.com/muslim:2955b

    • W/Salam. If I start getting bothered then I would need to shut this site down 🙂 Getting annoyed doesn’t fit the purpose and I’m not that kind – I welcome as much engagement as possible so as many questions as anyone wants are welcome.

The Hadith does not say that it cannot be broken into ashes but that the earth does not consume this bone and this is true; this particular bone is very strong and does not decay under “normal circumstances” – it has to be chemically broken down.

      • Doesn’t this bone have the same composition as all of the other bones in the body that will be consumed? What I have learned is that teeth also decay and are consumed. They are much harder and denser than bone. Also, there is a version o the hadith that states it is like a grain of mustard. The tailbone is much larger. Could be talking about a smaller piece in it? In summary, what is scientifically discovered in the tailbone that doesn’t decay while also a harder material like teath decay, and what is the scientific evidence of it? Is there any other interpretation of the hadith?

      • I haven’t looked into this in detail myself but I found an explanation from Sh. Hamza Yusuf:

There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection. [https://sunnah.com/bukhari:4935]

The Hadith is not talking about the tailbone but a seed in the tail bone; this seed could even be the size of atom. Seeds are very hard to be destroyed; fire can burn down an entire forest but rain makes the seeds grow again; the seeds survive. Allah will grow us out of the seed again from the special rain!

        I hope this is useful.

      • This is one extract from the transcript from Sh. Hamza Yusuf’s lecture:

There’s a hadith (narration) where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says that every human being has what’s called `ajbu al-zanab (the wondrous tail / tailbone). It’s at the tip of the coccyx, and it’s the seed of the human being.
So the Muslims believe that there is a seed that every human being has, and like seeds – seeds are very interesting because they are very hard to destroy, you swallow seeds, they come out the other end. Hydrochloric acid doesn’t break them down. In fires, seeds stay like forests that are burnt down come back to life because of seeds that are there that are not destroyed. Drought comes and kills everything but the seeds, it’s when the rain comes back it come back to life.

Now the belief of the Muslim is that every human being has a seed, and that seed will not be destroyed. We don’t know where it is or what it is. The hadith indicates that it is in the coccyx. But we don’t know what size it is or what it looks like, nothing like that. But from that seed every human being will be recreated from a divine rain. And it’s interesting that we deny the resurrection and yet our own culture is talking about recreating human beings from one cell, bringing back the entire human being by cloning one cell, because all of the information about you is contained in one of your cells.
